About The Position

This position is responsible for managing both recurring and non-recurring compliance related projects including non-discrimination testing, preparation of government filings, plan financial statements, benefit allocations, data analysis, reviewing 401(k) plan documents and other regulatory processes for the Insperity 401(k) Plan

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or four years of equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Five to seven years of experience in defined contribution plan administration is required.
  • Possesses technical competence of the various types of retirement plans and the related laws that govern them, including ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code and Department of Labor regulations, with a primary focus on 401(k) plans.
  • Experience with an industry recognized compliance testing and/or recordkeeping system.
  • Ability to independently research information via common industry and regulatory resources.
  • Attention to detail, and the ability to analyze data to assure accuracy and expose data trends to avoid widespread inaccuracy of reporting.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and demonstrates ability to learn other application programs as needed
  • Strong aptitude with balancing and reconciling financial activity.
  • Ability to analyze requirements and problems and to propose innovative but workable solutions.
  • Effective organization and time management skills, with ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines while working independently or in groups.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective problem solving/decision-making.

Nice To Haves

  • A strong focus on compliance testing of multiple employer 401 (k) plans is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) industry and with multiple employer (MEP) or pooled employer (PEP) 401(k) plans preferred.
  • Relevant professional designations (e.g., ASPPA QKA, QKC, CPC, or CPA) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the execution of annual nondiscrimination testing including carrying out required remedies for failures, review and distribution of written communication of results to clients and participants, managing Insperity’s CRM to allow plan consultants and other client service personnel to communicate results effectively and proactively to clients, and maintaining results statistics for management.
  • Prepares participant benefit allocations with a focus on achieving client’s desired results and identifying best Insperity 401(k) solution for the client.
  • Prepares annual Internal Revenue Service Form 5500 and Form 8955-SSA for onboarding client sponsored 401(k) plan including preparation of required documentation for potential late filings.
  • Coordinates and prepares the timely filing of Form 5330 for the Insperity 401(k) Plan.
  • Manages the collection process of required employer contributions via Insperity’s invoicing process, client-initiated wires or direct debits from client bank accounts, ensuring accurate payment and general ledger coding of payments, while maintaining a high collection percentage to reduce Insperity’s liability.
  • Reviews other 401(k) plan documents and reports, applying strict due diligence requirements to determine whether the plan is eligible to merge into the Insperity 401(k) Plan, ensuring that all required protected benefits can be maintained, that the plan is current with required amendments, required contribution submissions, nondiscrimination testing, and identifying plan assets that carry liquidation restrictions.
  • Reviews the Insperity Controlled Group and Nondiscrimination Testing Questionnaire to confirm that a client meets all of the requirements necessary to be eligible to elect the Insperity 401(k) Plan, including being able to identify potential business and ownership structures that may result in a controlled group of companies.
  • Provides technical expertise on advanced technical issues to Insperity Retirement Services' plan consultants, operations personnel, Insperity client services, and when requested to clients directly.
  • Monitors legislative changes for potential required amendments for all 401(k) plans administered by Insperity Retirement Services.
  • Advises and assists Retirement Services compliance personnel with review of new and existing operations procedures to identify issues and gaps that could cause potential delays and/or increase compliance risks to Insperity and its clients.
  • Manages the execution of various tasks with a regulatory compliance deadline, including minimum required distributions to participants, annual required contribution calculations, senior review of domestic relations orders, and review of required plan sponsor and participant/employee notices.
  • Assists in the accomplishment of Insperity Company goals.
  • Helps other employees to accomplish Insperity Company goals.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by department supervisor.
  • Participates in the Disaster Recovery plan as required.
