About The Position

NICO National Indemnity Company is seeking a Senior Compensation Analyst to join their team. This role involves evaluating jobs, documenting responsibilities, and performing data analysis for the company's salary administration program. The analyst will contribute organizational data to compensation surveys, analyze market data to determine competitive positioning of pay programs, and participate in the administration of annual performance management, incentive, or salary increase programs. This position is also responsible for the development and maintenance of the salary administration process and periodic cycles, as well as the administration and processing of wage garnishments. The role requires preparing various reports and responding to internal and external requests for information, while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Five or more years related work experience.
  • Mathematics, Human Resources or related field or equivalent preferred.
  • Math (including algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics)
  • Personal computer related spreadsheet and database manipulation software
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, problem-solving and human relations skills
  • Personal computer and related software with advanced Excel and Word skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Grammar, punctuation, and spelling

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates the organizations jobs, documenting responsibilities and requirements in job descriptions.
  • Performs data collection and analysis for the Company’s salary administration program.
  • Contributes organizational data to, and analyzes results of, local and national market-based compensation surveys.
  • Conducts market analysis of company jobs to determine competitive positioning of the organizations pay programs.
  • Benchmarks jobs against market survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
  • Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses software, spreadsheets and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.
  • Prepares, computes and maintains job classifications and salary ranges for exempt and non-exempt jobs.
  • Participates in administration of annual performance management, incentive, or salary increase programs and development of incentive or salary increase strategies.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of the salary administration process and periodic cycles.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for the Workday compensation system.
  • Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the data, troubleshooting issues, and reports bugs.
  • Evaluates new features during Workday semiannual updates, and participates in the testing and implementation of new features.
  • May assist with completing quarterly and annual payroll reporting for intercompany billings and annual reporting.
  • Ensures programs comply with internal and external policies and regulations.
  • Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations regarding compensation policies.
  • Responsible for payroll audits to verify the accuracy of pay for all hires, resignations/terminations, promotions, leaves of absence, relocation payments, and wage garnishment deductions.
  • Responds to auditor requests for information and verification of compensation changes.
  • Educates managers and employees and answers questions about the organization's compensation programs.
  • Develops training and documentation related to employee compensation.
  • Answers questions regarding payroll or Company policies or procedures from representatives of affiliated companies.
  • Evaluates and implements job analysis instruments and materials.
  • Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed.
  • Interviews and surveys employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
  • Assesses jobs and their respective duties to recommend classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
  • Maintains job grading data.
  • Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.
  • Assembles, organizes, computes, and analyzes special salary reports for management for use in various projects.
  • Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to management.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality using appropriate discretion.
  • Work additional time as needed.
