We are seeking an experienced and analytical Senior Compensation Analyst to join our dynamic People team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing our compensation programs to attract, motivate, and retain top talent. This role requires a strategic problem solver with a deep understanding of compensation practices, market trends, and regulatory requirements. As a key member of the Total Rewards team, you will partner to keep Etsy’s pay for performance plans competitive, reportable, and aligned with the company’s overall business strategy. This team is a small, yet dynamic, collaborative team focusing on crafting the strategy, frameworks, and processes behind how we reward new and existing talent in a market competitive, transparent and equitable way.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in compensation analysis, with an in-depth understanding of theories, global market trends, and regulatory practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • Strong skills to interpret complex datasets, identify the 'story,' and make informed, data-backed decisions.
  • High level of comfort with HRIS (Workday preferred), project management tools (Monday.com), Google Suite, and moderate to advanced Excel/Sheets skills.
  • A proactive curiosity about leveraging Generative AI to streamline workflows, combined with the ability to 'validate and challenge' technical outputs with human context and expertise.
  • A high level of integrity and confidentiality when experimenting with new technologies and handling sensitive organizational data.
  • Confident, professional, and accessible interpersonal skills that bridge the gap between technical data and human-centric storytelling.
  • Ability to prioritize and drive multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment, coupled with proven success managing stakeholders as a trusted advisor.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design, implementation, and administration of comprehensive compensation programs, including salary structures and incentive schemes.
  • Conduct market analyses and internal equity reviews to identify trends and ensure competitive positioning.
  • Perform advanced data analytics to generate detailed reports and presentations on compensation metrics and program effectiveness for senior management.
  • Manage annual compensation review processes (merit, promotions, bonus, equity) while maintaining accurate data within HR systems.
  • Develop and update compensation policies to ensure organizational alignment with best practices and legal compliance.
  • Provide strategic consultation and training to HR and management teams on complex compensation-related topics.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, Finance, and leadership to align compensation initiatives with broader organizational objectives.
  • Leverage modern productivity tools and AI to automate tasks and drive cross-functional total rewards projects.
