Part Time Senior Companion – Brookline, MA
About The Position
A thoughtful family in Brookline, MA, is seeking a dependable and organized caregiver to provide weekly companionship, household support, and meal preparation for a fully functional 70-year-old adult. The care recipient lives in a location accessible by public transit, and all errands are within walking distance. The target start date for this position is December 1. The schedule is Wednesdays, approximately 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM, for approximately 5 hours per week. The family requires a smoke-free and pet-free home. They value an organized, detail-oriented caregiver who can help structure tasks through to completion.
Requirements
- Proven experience in senior companionship, meal preparation, or home support
- Strong cooking and kitchen management skills
- Ability to comfortably walk to nearby stores for grocery errands
- Fluent in English
- Must pass a background check
- Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States
Responsibilities
- Plan, shop for, and prepare 1–2 nutritious meals per week that yield leftovers (from grocery shopping to final storage and full kitchen cleanup)
- Perform grocery shopping on foot (either independently or together with the care recipient)
- Assist with kitchen organization, including cleaning out the refrigerator
- Complete laundry tasks
- Provide warm, engaging companionship
