Senior Companion - Activities & Engagement for Seniors
About The Position
JFS at Home is seeking compassionate, dependable, and engaging Senior Companions to join our growing team. Requirements
- Enjoy building meaningful relationships with seniors
- Friendly, patient, compassionate, and dependable
- Passion for helping seniors stay engaged, active, and socially connected
- Ability to work independently in a one-on-one home setting
- Willingness to learn and continuously develop care giving skills
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Automobile insurance that includes bodily injury liability coverage
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and quality care
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience as a Companion in a healthcare setting preferred
- Schedule flexible availability
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and social engagement for seniors in their homes
- Encourage participation in activities, hobbies, games, walks, and conversations
- Assist with mobility both inside and outside the home
- Accompany clients to appointments, outings, errands, and community activities
- Plan and prepare meals and provide light assistance with daily routines
- Assist with personal care and hygiene as needed
- Complete shopping errands or accompany clients while shopping
- Perform light housekeeping and help maintain a safe living environment
- Observe and report changes in a client's condition or unusual incidents
- Respond appropriately and responsibly in emergency situations
- Help promote independence, dignity, safety, and overall well-being
