Senior Companion Caregiver
About The Position
CareOne Senior Care is hiring a dependable, compassionate, and caring individual to join our team as a Part-Time In-Home Caregiver in Clarkston, Michigan. This position may be a great fit for someone who enjoys helping others and wants to make a meaningful difference in a client's day without committing to a full-time schedule. We are seeking a reliable caregiver to provide companionship and feeding assistance to a client in the Clarkston area. The ideal candidate will be patient, friendly, dependable, and comfortable creating a positive and supportive environment for the client. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a small, consistent assignment, including caregivers who may have other work, school, family responsibilities, or simply prefer a limited-hour schedule.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Dependable and punctual.
- Patient, compassionate, and respectful.
- Comfortable providing companionship and feeding assistance.
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Able to follow a client's care plan and instructions.
- Comfortable working independently in a client's home.
- Must successfully complete the required background screening.
- Must have a current TB test or be willing to obtain one as required.
- Must be willing to complete required onboarding and training.
Nice To Haves
- Previous caregiving experience is preferred but may not be required, depending on the client's needs and the applicant's qualifications. We are looking for someone who is responsible, caring, willing to learn, and committed to providing quality care.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly companionship and conversation.
- Assist with feeding as needed and according to the client's care plan.
- Encourage and participate in simple, appropriate activities with the client.
- Help create a safe, comfortable, and positive environment.
- Follow the client's individualized care plan and all caregiver instructions.
- Respect the client's privacy, dignity, preferences, and routines.
- Observe and report any changes or concerns regarding the client's condition or needs.
- Communicate appropriately with the CareOne Senior Care office regarding the client's care.
- Complete required shift documentation accurately and on time.
- Follow all CareOne Senior Care policies and procedures.
- Maintain professional and respectful communication with the client and their family.

- $15–$17 per hour for standard caregiver assignments.
- Specialty assignments may pay up to $20 per hour, depending on the position and client needs.
