The communication specialist is responsible for planning, developing and implementing internal communication strategies across the enterprise and helps to create an informed, engaged, and inspired workforce through the development of effective internal communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field
  • Minimum of three years relevant communication and/or writing experience, preferably in a large and complex corporate setting

Nice To Haves

  • Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s degree in communications or related field

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the effective delivery of employee communication programs through a wide range of mediums to create impact and engagement
  • Lead the planning, organization and coordination of internal communication for specific departments and initiatives
  • Develop internal communications tactics including email, video, and intranet
  • Author stories through Sanford Health News
  • Assist in the development of corporate communication materials and messages used for external audiences
  • Ensure that the right messages are going to the right audiences at the right time
  • Ensure messages are delivered in the appropriate voice and with the appropriate creative presentation, including visual imagery, videos, or graphics
  • Train the organization on the use of best methods and templates
  • Serve as a primary communication resource and expert for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders
  • Create simple, clear and effective communication for all levels with Sanford Health
  • Partner with the creative team in marketing to add visual, video and animation elements to communications where appropriate
  • Create and maintain positive working relationships with partners and stakeholders to understand priorities and needs
  • Conduct final review and approval before communications are released
