About The Position

SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER , Urban Studies & Planning , to oversee and manage the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of communications strategies for both the Architecture and Urban Studies & Planning departments, supporting academic, research, and public outreach missions; collaborate with the department heads to shape content strategy; work directly with faculty, staff, and students to lead the development of public programming, lecture series, workshops, and talks; oversee department publications with direct oversight of the calendar and communications budgets; perform other duties as needed; responsible to work occasional nights and weekends for events. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • minimum of 6 years’ experience in communications and marketing
  • knowledge of visual design, layout, programing for web and print, social media management, and analytics

Nice To Haves

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills and professional demeanor working with faculty, students, and senior leadership
  • advanced knowledge of visual design, layout, and programing for web and print, including proficiency with backend web CMS management, Adobe Creative Suite, animation, and Airtable and backend management of APIs
  • experience in social media management, analytics, and academic communications best practices
  • demonstrated networking skills to cultivate relationships and drive collaborative content creation and dissemination
  • familiarity with academic/research methodologies and ability to translate complex subjects for wider audiences
