About The Position

The Senior Communication Professional – North America serves as the strategic communications leader for DSV Contract Logistics’ North American business, with end-to-end ownership of internal and executive communications and close partnership with Marketing on external strategies. This role is the primary communications architecture for North America. The Senior Communication leader will design and drive the channels, narratives, and executive content that connect leadership to employees and position DSV’s Contract Logistics business in the market. The Senior Communication leader will build the communications operating model for Contract Logistics North America, set standards for how the business speaks internally and externally, and serve as a trusted thought partner to the executive team on high-stakes employee initiatives, change communications, and leadership presence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, English, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive communications experience, with a minimum of 3 years in an internal communications, executive communications, or corporate communications capacity within a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated track record of owning end-to-end communications programs, producing executive-level content, and driving measurable employee engagement outcomes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite (SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Canva) as a communications delivery and channel management platform.
  • Experience with content management systems, intranet platforms, and digital communications tools; comfort with analytics dashboards and reporting tools to measure communications effectiveness.
  • Proficiency in presentation tools (PowerPoint) and visual communications software; ability to produce publication-ready communications assets without design support.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted content tools and an ability to leverage emerging technology to improve communications quality, speed, and personalization at scale.
  • Working knowledge of video production, webcast platforms, and live event tools for executive town halls and large-format internal events.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clearly for a wide range of audiences — from frontline employees to the C-suite — and to adapt tone, register, and format accordingly.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic communications planning with hands-on content production; equally comfortable setting the agenda and writing the copy.
  • Strong executive presence and advisory instincts; able to counsel senior leaders on communications strategy, push back constructively when needed, and build trusted relationships at the VP and C-level.
  • Sound editorial judgment; able to identify the right message, moment, and medium for sensitive or complex communications without over-engineering or under-preparing.
  • Ability to influence and build trust across multiple levels and functions in a complex, matrixed global organization, including Marketing, P+O, Legal, and Operations.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-ambiguity environment; able to prioritize competing demands, manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, and deliver under deadline pressure.
  • Sound judgment regarding sensitive communications, including the ability to assess risk, protect confidentiality, and navigate politically complex internal situations with discretion.
  • Strong project management instincts; able to plan, sequence, and execute multi-stakeholder communications programs with precision and accountability.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a logistics, supply chain, transportation, or large multi-site operating environment is strongly preferred.
  • Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Organizational Communication, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working within third-party logistics, supply chain, transportation, or a similarly complex, multi-site operating environment is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience supporting post-merger integration communications or large-scale organizational change programs.
  • Experience serving as a communications business partner to a senior executive or leadership team, with demonstrated ability to shape voice, narrative, and presence at the organizational level.
  • Accreditation in Business Communication, Public Relations (e.g., APR), or Internal Communications (e.g., IABC or PRSA certification) is a plus.
  • Active portfolio of executive communications, internal communications campaigns, or published corporate content is strongly encouraged as part of the application.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end communications strategy for DSV Contract Logistics North America — including strategy development, channel management, calendar planning, and message architecture — ensuring consistency, clarity, and alignment to business priorities.
  • Design, manage, and continuously improve internal employee communication channels — including all-hands events, leadership newsletters, intranet content, and digital signage — to drive engagement, alignment, and culture across a geographically distributed workforce.
  • Serve as the primary communications strategist and thought partner to the North America executive team, advising on employee initiatives, organizational change, and high-stakes communications that require precision, timing, and executive judgment.
  • Build and manage the executive communications program for North American leadership, including speechwriting, talking point development, LinkedIn and external content, speaking engagement preparation, and town hall facilitation support.
  • Partner with DSV’s Marketing function on external communications strategies, ensuring Contract Logistics North America has a coherent, consistent voice in market-facing activities while Marketing retains ownership of brand and campaign execution.
  • Develop and maintain a communications cadence and editorial calendar that maps to the business cycle, key organizational moments, and leadership priorities across Contract Logistics North America.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of internal communications programs through employee engagement signals, readership data, and qualitative feedback; continuously refine approach based on results.
  • Manage and coordinate external vendors, agencies, and freelance writers as needed to support communications production, ensuring quality, brand compliance, and on-time delivery.
  • Serve as the steward of DSV’s Corporate Visual Identity (CVI) and tone-of-voice standards within Contract Logistics North America, ensuring all communications outputs are brand-compliant and professionally consistent.
  • Partner with P+O, Legal, and the executive team to develop and execute communications for sensitive organizational matters including restructurings, policy changes, leadership transitions, and post-merger integration milestones.
  • Support DSV’s DB Schenker integration by developing communications that help align employees, leaders, and stakeholders across legacy organizations during the North American integration period.
  • Operate fluently across executive (C-Level) and frontline (site operations, general managers) audiences, modulating channel, tone, and depth to match the communication need.
