About The Position

Altman Air Conditioning is a full-service HVAC provider serving the Palm Beach, Florida area and surrounding regions. Headquartered in Lake Park, Florida, we specialize in the installation, maintenance, and optimization of complex mechanical systems across industrial, institutional, and multi-site environments. Our expertise spans a wide range of equipment, including large-tonnage rooftop units, split systems, VRF/VRV technology, chillers, boilers, ventilation systems, building automation controls, and energy-management solutions. We partner with facility managers, general contractors, and commercial clients to deliver reliable system performance, minimize downtime, and ensure compliance with industry standards including ASHRAE, OSHA, EPA Section 608, and manufacturer specifications. Our service approach prioritizes accurate diagnostics, root-cause analysis, and long-term operational efficiency — backed by a team committed to high-quality workmanship and continuous growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of HVAC installation experience [Residential and/or Commercial]
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and wire diagrams
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • HVAC Certification [Technical school certification preferred]
  • EPA Certification a plus
  • Valid Driver’s License with ability to pass company’s MVR requirements
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. regularly and adhere to all safety guidelines
  • Familiarity with building codes, HVAC equipment manufacturers, and industry standards
  • Drug-free workplace — pre-employment and random drug screening required

Responsibilities

  • Install HVAC equipment including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, rooftop units (RTUs), and mini-splits
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to plan and execute installations
  • Assemble, mount, and secure HVAC components, ensuring proper alignment and operation
  • Connect electrical wiring, piping, ducting, and refrigerant lines per manufacturer specifications and local codes
  • Test installed systems for proper operation, efficiency, and safety
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot installation issues and adjust as needed
  • Communicate clearly with customers on system operation, maintenance, and warranty information
  • Collaborate with team members, project managers, and other trades for timely project completion
  • Follow all OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in proper working order
