About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Drywall / Acoustical Estimator to join an established specialty commercial contractor supporting complex projects throughout Central Florida. This position will be based in the company’s Orlando office and will focus specifically on estimating commercial drywall, acoustical ceiling, and related interior systems scopes. The ideal candidate is currently working within the commercial drywall/acoustical ceiling industry and brings a strong understanding of estimating, takeoffs, labor and material pricing, subcontractor/vendor coordination, and the competitive Central Florida construction market. The company performs highly specialized commercial interior work across sectors including theme parks, healthcare, stadiums, and complex specialty construction projects. This is an opportunity for an experienced estimator to join a stable organization with a strong industry reputation and long-term growth potential. The company is open to either an established Senior Estimator or an experienced estimator who is ready to step into a senior-level position. For the right individual, there is also the potential to grow into broader estimating leadership over time.

Requirements

  • Approximately 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience, with a strong preference for candidates currently estimating commercial drywall and acoustical ceiling systems.
  • Direct experience with drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, and related commercial interior scopes.
  • Strong ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop complete estimates from construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid, or comparable estimating software.
  • Strong understanding of labor productivity, material pricing, construction methods, and estimating risk.
  • Experience estimating projects for commercial general contractors, specialty contractors, or interior systems contractors.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with project managers, field teams, vendors, clients, and senior leadership.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify scope gaps, conflicts, and potential project risks.
  • Must be comfortable working in-office in Apopka, Florida and collaborating closely with the estimating and operations teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Central Florida construction market knowledge is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with theme park, healthcare, stadium, entertainment, or other complex commercial projects is highly desirable.
  • Candidates currently working for a commercial drywall, acoustical ceiling, or specialty interior contractor in the Central Florida market will be particularly well aligned with this opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for commercial drywall, acoustical ceiling, and related interior construction scopes.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs from architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, and other project documents.
  • Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing for projects ranging from traditional commercial interiors to highly specialized construction environments.
  • Review plans and specifications to identify scope requirements, exclusions, risks, and potential cost impacts.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and supplier pricing to ensure estimates reflect current market conditions.
  • Prepare complete bid packages and ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and submitted within required deadlines.
  • Utilize estimating technology, including On-Screen Takeoff and/or Quick Bid, to develop detailed takeoffs and pricing.
  • Participate in bid reviews and provide insight into project strategy, scope, pricing, and potential risks.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceiling systems, specialty interior assemblies, and applicable construction methods.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, project management, field leadership, and senior management during preconstruction and project turnover.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, general contractors, and other construction partners throughout the Central Florida market.
  • Assist with value engineering and alternate pricing when appropriate.
  • Track estimating activity, historical pricing, production rates, and bid results to improve future estimating accuracy.
  • Support the continued development of the estimating department and potentially take on increased leadership responsibilities as the organization grows.
