About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager to support the Healthcare, Higher Education and Nonprofit lending team in Specialized Industries in Commercial Banking. In this role, you will participate in performing financial research, underwriting, and structuring of highly complex private banking as well as consumer and mortgage relationships within the Commercial Banking Portfolio Management functional area. You will review and research business financial statements and tax returns that require an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. You will resolve moderately complex issues and lead the Commercial Banking Portfolio Management team to meet project deliverables, while leveraging a solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. You will collaborate and consult with Commercial Banking Portfolio Management peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals. You will also lead projects and teams or serve as a mentor for less experienced individuals.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Commercial Banking Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Healthcare, Higher Education and Nonprofit Lending sectors
  • Ability to quickly evaluate direct and operating exposure situations on short deadlines driven by the RFP process
  • Advanced credit structuring and portfolio analysis skills, with ability to evaluate complex and unique lending situations
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross‑functional initiatives involving Credit, Risk, Relationship Management, and Operations
  • Strong understanding of commercial credit policy, regulatory considerations, and risk rating methodologies
  • Proven ability to mentor and guide peers or junior portfolio managers in underwriting quality, portfolio monitoring, and credit decisioning
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to present complex credit findings and recommendations to leaders and credit partners
