About The Position

The Senior CNC Machine Programmer supports aerospace production operations by developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC program using Mastercam and/or Siemens NX. This position ensures precision machining of complex aerospace components to meet stringent quality, tolerance, and process control requirements. The ideal candidate combines deep CNC programming expertise with hands-on problem-solving skills and a strong understanding of aerospace materials and manufacturing standards.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent technical experience).
  • Minimum of 7+ years of CNC programming experience in a precision aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Mastercam and/or Siemens NX CAM, including multi-axis programming and post processor management.
  • Expertise in machining aerospace materials (e.g., titanium, nickel alloys, hardened steels) with proven capability maintaining tolerances within ±0.001".
  • Strong understanding of AS9100, aerospace documentation control, and first article inspection requirements (FAI per AS9102).
  • Familiarity with Fanuc, Siemens, and Haas CNC controls.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, collaboration, and communication skills with a focus on supporting fast-paced production demands.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience setting up and proving out multi-axis CNC jobs.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, root cause analysis).
  • Experience with in-process probing, adaptive machining strategies, and tool life management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Program and optimize 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining operations for aerospace components using Mastercam and/or Siemens NX.
  • Support production teams by troubleshooting machining issues, validating tool paths, and implementing program updates that enhance quality, tool life, and efficiency.
  • Interpret complex aerospace drawings, 3D CAD data, and GD&T specifications in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and AS9100 quality standards.
  • Develop tool paths tailored for aerospace-grade materials such as titanium, Inconel, stainless steels, and aluminum alloys.
  • Collaborate closely with machinists, setup personnel, and manufacturing engineers to ensure consistent production performance and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct post-processing, toolpath simulation, and verification to ensure collision-free, production-ready programs.
  • Maintain organized program files, setup instructions, and tool lists for repeat or legacy part production.
  • Assist in tooling and fixture design reviews, recommending process improvements that reduce cycle times and ensure repeatable accuracy.
  • Serve as a programming technical resource, mentoring peers and operators on machining techniques and best practices.
