About The Position

We are hiring an experienced Senior CNC Lathe Machinist for a direct-hire, second-shift opportunity. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC lathes, reading complex blueprints, making machine adjustments, and producing precision machined components to close tolerances. Experience with Mazak CNC controls and Y-axis machining is a strong plus. This position is best suited for an experienced machinist who can perform CNC setups and machining operations with limited guidance in a precision manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related machining experience
  • Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC machines
  • Strong CNC lathe setup and operating experience
  • Ability to perform machine setups with limited guidance
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints, specifications, and technical work instructions
  • Experience machining parts to close dimensional tolerances
  • Experience using precision measuring and inspection tools
  • Working knowledge of machine-shop mathematics, which may include trigonometry
  • Ability to identify and respond to machining or equipment issues
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively with limited supervision in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes and other production machining equipment
  • Perform machine setups and run multiple production machines as required
  • Install and adjust cutting tools based on the material and machining operation
  • Adjust feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to produce quality parts according to specifications
  • Perform machining operations including cutting, shaping, drilling, reaming, forming, and reworking parts
  • Read and follow blueprints, engineering specifications, route sheets, sketches, and work instructions
  • Align and secure workpieces using standard fixtures and established methods
  • Identify machining problems and make necessary machine adjustments
  • Deburr precision machined components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications
  • Inspect finished and in-process parts for dimensional and quality requirements
  • Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and comparators
  • Visually inspect machined surfaces for burrs, damage, and other defects
  • Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) activities as required
  • Maintain machining equipment for cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability
  • Support lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement initiatives
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area
