About The Position

As a Senior Cloud Services Engineer, you will design, implement, and support the cloud infrastructure that powers Walker & Dunlop’s technology platform. You will help ensure our environments are secure, scalable, and highly available while enabling engineering teams to deliver innovative, data-driven solutions. Working closely with Engineering, Security, and Infrastructure teams, you will modernize and automate cloud operations, implement best practices, and support systems that drive collaboration, communication, monitoring, and data governance across the organization. Your work will directly impact platform performance and team productivity across WDTech.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in IT or cloud engineering
  • Strong expertise in Azure, AWS, and cloud infrastructure architecture
  • Solid understanding of networking, identity management, and SaaS integrations
  • Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and information lifecycle management in cloud environments
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery and business continuity principles
  • Understanding of information security frameworks, certifications, and audits
  • Strong documentation skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes
  • Courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure across platforms including Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, Purview, Box, and Cisco Email Security
  • Manage and optimize enterprise cloud and SaaS services to ensure reliability, performance, and availability
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud resources
  • Implement monitoring and observability solutions to proactively identify and resolve performance issues and service disruptions
  • Support data governance and compliance initiatives, including management of tools such as Microsoft Purview
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of operational processes
  • Partner with Information Security to ensure adherence to security policies, regulatory requirements, and governance standards
  • Use tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence for work tracking, documentation, and knowledge sharing
  • Contribute to and uphold cloud architecture standards, infrastructure guidelines, and operational best practices
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support 24/7 infrastructure operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
