About The Position

Altruist is in the midst of an exciting phase and we’re excited to hire a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to secure our multi-account AWS and Kubernetes environment. You’ll build the guardrails and controls that keep our cloud platform hardened as we grow. This role follows a hybrid schedule, with three days per week onsite in our San Francisco FiDi or Culver City office.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in cloud security engineering
  • Hands-on securing AWS (IAM, org/SCPs, KMS, networking)
  • Kubernetes / EKS security experience
  • Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and CSPM tooling (e.g., Wiz)
  • Comfort scripting and automating (e.g., Python / Go)
  • A B.A. / B.S. degree in relevant fields such as Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Information Security or relevant experience
  • Technologically savvy and can easily get up to speed on modern tech stacks (i.e., AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Harden our AWS environment
  • Build cloud guardrails as code
  • Own cloud vulnerability and exposure management
  • Partner with Detection & Response on investigations for cloud-origin events.
