About The Position

Design, implement, operate, and continuously improve security infrastructure across on-premises data centers and AWS environments supporting business and critical scientific workloads. This hands-on role spans architecture and implementation, including defining security patterns and policies, configuring infrastructure, troubleshooting complex issues, and automating security operations. The engineer will work with AWS security, Palo Alto Networks firewalls, hybrid-cloud security architecture, Infrastructure as Code, and security automation. The position is mostly remote, with occasional onsite requirements in Rockville, Maryland; candidates must be within commuting distance. The role requires obtaining and maintaining a Public Trust and completing onsite fingerprinting at a designated facility. The investigation may review personal and criminal behavior, financial conduct, foreign influence, and other adjudications. Scheduled hours are 40 per week, and travel is less than 10%.
