About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Enterprise Architect to help shape and secure next-generation cloud environments supporting critical Air Force missions. In this role, you will design and implement enterprise-scale cloud architectures across GovCloud and commercial platforms, establish secure landing zones and guardrails, and drive adoption of DevSecOps and Zero Trust principles across the enterprise. This is a hands-on architecture role where you will directly influence how mission systems are built, secured, and modernized—balancing performance, cost, and cybersecurity in highly regulated DoD environments. You will work closely with engineering, cybersecurity, and mission stakeholders to ensure cloud solutions are scalable, compliant, and operationally effective from day one. If you enjoy solving complex cloud and security challenges, building environments from the ground up, and enabling secure digital transformation at scale, this role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on mission capability.

  • Hands-on experience with multi-cloud architectures
  • Familiarity with application modernization and cloud migration strategies
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale cybersecurity architectures in regulated environments
  • Exposure to mission or defense-related digital transformation programs

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and sustain secure enterprise cloud architectures across DoD and GovCloud environments
  • Develop and enforce cloud landing zone architectures, guardrails, and governance models
  • Architect and optimize multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, and/or other commercial cloud platforms) to maximize performance and cost efficiency
  • Lead cloud environment stand-up activities, including infrastructure provisioning, security baseline configuration, and operational readiness
  • Implement and mature DevSecOps practices across cloud-hosted applications and platforms
  • Design and support Zero Trust architectures, including segmentation, identity integration, and least-privilege access models
  • Apply cybersecurity principles to ensure compliance with DoD security standards and FedRAMP requirements
  • Define and implement network architecture patterns, including: VPC/VNet design, network segmentation and boundaries, firewall and routing policies, secure access patterns (e.g., bastion host configurations)
  • Support migration of legacy applications and services into cloud environments
  • Evaluate and integrate FedRAMP-authorized products and cloud services
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and mission stakeholders to align architecture with operational requirements
  • Develop technical documentation including architecture diagrams, design standards, security controls, and implementation guidance
  • Support continuous improvement of cloud environments through automation, monitoring, and optimization strategies
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance across engineering teams supporting enterprise cloud adoption initiatives
