About The Position

As a Senior Cloud Engineering Task Lead, your work at GDIT will be highly impactful to the mission of USCENTCOM on the CITS contract. You will play a crucial role in leading a team of cloud engineers to design, architect, deploy, and maintain robust, automated, and secure enterprise cloud solutions. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: Lead / Manage / Support: Serve as the primary Task Lead managing a team of Cloud Engineers. You will oversee the full lifecycle of cloud infrastructure, from initial design and automation to ongoing maintenance and Tier 3 support for an enterprise environment supporting over 5,000 users. Collaborate with: Work closely with cross-functional DevSecOps teams, cybersecurity professionals, and government stakeholders to implement secure, resilient, and mission focused cloud environments. Act as a key interface with third party vendors for advanced troubleshooting and solution integration. Drive: Lead cloud migration strategies, architectural innovation, and process automation. You will be responsible for resolving complex infrastructure challenges, enhancing system performance, and ensuring the modernization of mission critical systems. Utilize: Employ a wide range of enterprise cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) by Broadcom), Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), and modern CI/CD deployment pipelines to automate and secure the environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Science in a relevant technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of related experience in systems administration and cloud engineering.
  • Active DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II or III compliant certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP).
  • Current active TS/SCI clearance required.
  • US citizenship required due to the TS/SCI clearance requirement.
  • Proven experience serving as a Task Lead.
  • Willingness to support USCENTCOM exercises, with potential for up to 10% travel to OCONUS locations.
  • Cloud Architecture: Expertise in cloud architecture (AWS and/or Azure).
  • VMware Cloud Foundation: Hands on experience deploying, managing, and maintaining VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) by Broadcom environments.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Strong proficiency in IaC with tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • DevSecOps & CI/CD: Demonstrated experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
  • Automation Scripting: Advanced scripting skills for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).

Nice To Haves

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect — Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or VMware Certified Professional/Advanced Professional (VCP/VCAP).
  • Strong understanding of the DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (CCSRG) and experience operating within Impact Level 5 (IL5) or Impact Level 6 (IL6) environments.
  • Practical experience with container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift) and hybrid cloud integration.
  • Prior experience supporting USCENTCOM HQ, major combatant commands (COCOMs), or specialized tactical military networks.
  • Experience working within ITIL aligned IT service management frameworks (ITIL v4 Foundation or higher preferred).
