About The Position

AMC Global Media is home to many of the greatest stories and characters in TV and film and the premier destination for passionate and engaged fan communities around the world. We create and curate celebrated series and films across distinct brands and make them available to audiences everywhere. Our portfolio includes targeted streaming services AMC+, Acorn TV, Shudder, Sundance Now, ALLBLK and HIDIVE; cable networks AMC, BBC AMERICA, Independent Film Company, Sundance TV and We TV; and film distribution labels Independent Film Company and RLJE Films. The company also operates AMC Studios, our in-house studio, production, and distribution operation behind acclaimed and fan-favorite originals including The Walking Dead Universe and the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and AMC Networks International, our international programming business. We are currently seeking a Senior Cloud Developer to join our Business Intelligence team based in our New York, NY offices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, etc. or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of relevant software development experience
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and modern delivery practices.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more languages/frameworks (e.g., PHP, JavaScript, Java, Python).
  • Experience designing and developing in cloud architectures (AWS required; Azure a plus).
  • Working knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with asynchronous messaging and event-driven patterns (e.g., SQS/SNS/MQ, pub/sub).
  • Media processing experience using tools such as FFmpeg; familiarity with AWS S3 and MediaConvert for proxy/transcode workflows.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to propose pragmatic, elegant solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver cloud-native, serverless, and event-driven services and integrations for media asset management, processing pipelines, and scalable business solutions, using technologies such as AWS Lambda, S3, MediaConvert, Batch, MQ, SQS, and SNS.
  • Build and maintain reliable, high-performance systems for high-volume video workflows, including ingest, metadata, transcoding, QA, delivery, video/audio analysis, format conversion, and automation using tools such as FFmpeg.
  • Lead technical discovery, solution design, estimation, and implementation across the SDLC; develop full-stack applications using PHP, SQL, JavaScript/jQuery, CSS, and HTML; and modernize legacy systems through upgrades, refactoring, and performance improvements.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI/LLM integrations, and integrate large language and embedding models such as OpenAI and Amazon to support automation, business-facing queries, innovation, and long-term technical planning.
