About The Position

The Senior Cloud and AI Architect is an advanced-level professional responsible for designing and implementing secure, scalable, and ethical AI solutions to support government and public service missions. This role requires strong expertise in AI/ML, cloud architecture, and solution design. The architect will collaborate with GTA to design, develop, and implement IT architecture, AWS solutions, and advanced AI/ML capabilities across State Agencies. Responsibilities include planning resources, analyzing and developing project plans, implementing solutions, and supervising team members.

Requirements

  • 10+ years overall experience, including 5 years minimum in enterprise full lifecycle architecture
  • 5–8 years hands-on technical application architecture, including modernization
  • Extensive experience architecting, designing, and programming applications for AWS
  • Experience developing solution architectures for private, public, and hybrid cloud models (IaaS, PaaS)
  • Proven experience designing secure, scalable, and ethical AI/ML solutions
  • Strong expertise in machine learning, deep learning, NLP
  • Ability to evaluate and recommend AI platforms/tools (Azure ML, AWS SageMaker, Google Vertex AI, PyTorch)
  • Experience designing secure and compliant AI/ML solutions in cloud or hybrid environments
  • Bachelor's in IT, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field OR 5+ years progressive experience in application design, solution architecture, AWS/Public Cloud, and AI/ML platforms

Nice To Haves

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Experience with state or local government
  • Enterprise-wide integration experience (cloud + AI)
  • Experience developing chatbots, Generative AI (GenAI), LLM deployments for public sector
  • Knowledge of cloud + AI integration standards and best practices
  • Understanding of public sector security/compliance (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST AI RMF, NIST 800-53)
  • Experience with AI ethics, bias mitigation, responsible AI
  • Prior work with government digital transformation programs
  • Certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud/AI specialties
