About The Position

Joseph J. Peters Institute (JJPI), a nationally recognized provider serving children, adolescents, and adult survivors of trauma, as well as individuals who engage in problematic sexual behavior and/or intimate partner violence, seeks a Senior Clinician for JJPI’s Survivor Services division. The Senior Clinician maintains a full caseload, provides supervision to students, and works on program development to support and improve the financial health of the agency. This position reports to the Coordinator of Survivor Services.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a field related to clinical work from an accredited program required
  • Must be licensed in Pennsylvania as a clinical social worker (LCSW), professional counselor (LPC), marriage and family therapist (LMFT), or psychologist
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing trauma treatment at JJPI or a similar specialized outpatient provider
  • Certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
  • Training in at least one of the following evidence-based practices (EBP): Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT); Prolonged Exposure (PE); Problematic Sexual Behavior – CBT for adolescent or school-aged children (PSB-CBT-A or PSB-CBT-S); or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Responsibilities

  • Provide the highest quality clinical services to all clients of JJPI.
  • Develop and maintain clinical utilization at 60% or as assigned by the Director.
  • Supervise clinical students (as assigned by the Director) performing clinical services; provide weekly individual supervision.
  • Provide clinical guidance to assigned point people as needed.
  • Attend clinical meetings and scheduled supervision.
  • Provide supervisors with audio or videotaped samples of sessions as required.
  • Ensure the provision of comprehensive case management services to clients at 20% case management utilization.
  • Maintain clinical records in accordance with agency, managed care, and licensing requirements.
  • Assist in developing training programs for other staff.
  • Assist in developing and implementing new, innovative treatment strategies.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with other agencies.
  • Adhere to all organizational procedures regarding clinical documentation, including completing an initial wellness/treatment plan review within the first visit of client contact, completing updated wellness/treatment plans every 6 months or as clinically indicated, completing progress notes within 24 hours of individual sessions and within 72 hours of group sessions, following up appropriately with clients when a participant has missed a session, and completing a discharge summary within 48 hours of termination date.
  • Maintain compliance with the guidelines and requirements of various funders.
  • Seek out appropriate professional training.
  • Work at least one evening per week at the clinic.
  • Support and take an active role in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion projects/movement at JJPI.
  • Supervise students performing clinical services, providing administrative guidance with Credible (EHR) and other paperwork responsibilities.
  • Provide administrative guidance to assigned point people.
  • Submit progress reviews to students’ universities/schools as required.
  • Coordinate the timely and accurate submission of all clinical paperwork.
  • Work effectively with other staff and contribute to the development of a team approach to treatment.
  • Provide input into new programs and work to implement more effective methods of delivering services.
  • Understand and communicate with other programs within the agency and work to foster a collaborative team approach across all programs.
  • Participate in at least one JJPI-related committee (morale, decoration, work group, etc.).
  • Understand the impact of the caseload requirements on the financial performance of the agency.
  • Understand the payment source of each client.
  • Complete all forms required for submission of bills for services in a timely manner.
  • Work with other staff to develop new treatment programs to promote the financial performance of the agency.
