Respire Homecare Services•Charlotte, NC
•$87,000 - $105,000•Onsite

About The Position

The Senior Clinical Manager is the market leader our patients, referral partners, and RTs count on every day. If you’re a Respiratory Therapist who leads fearlessly through change, stays hyper-organized amid a hundred moving pieces, and is obsessed with in-home care, quality, and outcomes — this is your seat. You’ll own clinical quality and RT engagement in your market, serve as the go-to clinical voice for referral partners, and wear a lot of hats along the way — coach, decision-maker, quarterback, and partner to Sales. You move with urgency, communicate clearly, and bring our all in, all the way energy to every interaction. You’re also our champion for continuous improvement — piloting new tools, refining SOPs and KPIs, and helping raise the bar for what great in-home respiratory care looks like. This is a role for someone ready to lead, grow, and build something they’re proud of.

Requirements

  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist with minimum 2 years of experience in DME homecare.
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program.
  • Proven leadership, sound independent judgment, initiative, and solid organizational and time management skills.
  • High level of competency in both written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, specifically Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Active state licensure in Respiratory Care.
  • Minimum 2 years of homecare or respiratory clinical experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Fearless leading and managing through change — comfortable setting direction amid ambiguity and shifting priorities.
  • Hyper-organized, with the ability to juggle multiple tools, systems, and moving pieces without letting anything fall through the cracks.
  • Strong relationship builder — able to partner effectively with Sales, Patient Navigation/Intake, referral sources, and your own team.

Nice To Haves

  • Some acute care and critical care background preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team of RTs across your market — setting the tone and owning hiring, onboarding, 1:1s, and performance development.
  • Build clinical excellence through ongoing coaching, feedback, and development, and create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Cultivate Virtual Culture: Build team cohesion, combat isolation, and drive retention through structured virtual syncs, digital huddles, and regular remote touchpoints across your distributed team.
  • Recruit, hire, and direct Respiratory staff as needed; arrange annual performance evaluations for each RT, set goals, and monitor progress against them.
  • Serve as a key clinical voice within the care pod, collaborating cross-functionally to optimize the patient’s journey.
  • Ensure communication with physicians regarding the clinical progress of Respiratory Care patients.
  • Respond to patient inquiries as needed and resolve complaints in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate delivery of clinical services and/or equipment to patients, including RT equipment delivery, set-up, and pick-up from patients’ homes.
  • Optimize clinical scheduling, routing, and caseload distribution to maximize patient contact hours and minimize travel time.
  • Manage day-to-day RT productivity, clinical supervision, and patient escalations across your market.
  • Oversee response to emergency calls as needed and maintain after-hour on-call coverage.
  • Manage productivity and financial (P&L) outcomes for the market, and monitor operational expenses against the Company budget.
  • Review and approve payroll for department staff, and delegate authority as needed to keep the department running smoothly and on time.
  • Own clinical quality and outcomes for your market — training, onboarding, chart audits, and KPI performance.
  • Champion process improvement: lead pilots, test new technology, and help refine SOPs and KPIs.
  • Get involved early on accreditation efforts, technology implementations, and other continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Generate and analyze KPI reports for review with the Chief Clinical Officer.
  • Balance patient-first decision-making with sound compliance and financial judgment.
  • Ensure the accuracy of patient/client documentation, and oversee record-keeping so information stays accurate and complete — including changes in patient profiles, CMNs, claim files, scheduled deliveries, and contact information.
  • Manage the flow of up-to-date information between Clinical and other parts of the Company, such as billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, customer service, and warehouse.
  • Develop, review, and suggest changes to department policies and procedures as needed.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations, that the department meets or exceeds accreditation standards, and that best practices are implemented across all departmental activities.
  • Report any misconduct, suspicious, or unethical activity to the Compliance Officer.
  • Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies, the Company’s Performance Improvement program, and Company committees as requested.
  • Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities.
  • Serve as an exceptional partner to the Patient Navigation and Intake teams, ensuring seamless handoffs and a world-class patient experience end to end.
  • Partner closely with Sales — understanding local market and referral dynamics, and driving growth through clinical excellence, responsiveness, and trust.
  • Communicate progress and status clearly and with urgency, both internally and externally.
  • Serve as an ambassador of the Respire brand in every interaction with patients, RTs, and referral sources.
