About The Position

The Senior Application Systems Analyst supports IT EMR Services. Acts independently under general supervision, requiring minimal instruction and guidance. Supports system applications, primarily Epic Ambulatory (Healthy/Compass Rose). Demonstrates high level of proficiency and expertise on software functionality and integration. Responsible for building system components, testing, implementation support and maintenance of assigned system applications. Performs in-depth analysis, trouble shooting, data collection, and root cause analysis and then identifies and/or implements potential solutions for issues related to the system or usage of it. Analyzes/reviews and tests each product release and communicates needed changes to operations. Must be able to document and follow system change control procedures for the system. Works closely with other analysts, software vendors and operations to ensure that system integrity is maintained and that IT deliverables meet operational business needs. Researches, analyzes, facilitates and implements business and system workflows in order to expedite process improvement and coordinate business practices. Identifies best practices and implements opportunities for standardization. Prepares activity and other reports as necessary. Provides guidance and mentoring to more junior analysts. Attains necessary certifications, as applicable, in a timely manner according to policy. Provides On-Call support for application.

Requirements

Master's degree in clinical, healthcare, business, IT, or related field plus three (3) years of IT experience or clinical/operational experience, or any combination of the two, or
Bachelor's degree in clinical, healthcare, business, IT, or related field plus five (5) years of IT experience or clinical/operational experience or any combination of the two, or
Associate's degree in clinical, healthcare, business, IT, or related field plus seven (7) years of IT experience or clinical/operational experience or any combination of the two, or
High School diploma plus nine (9) years of IT experience or clinical/operational experience or any combination of the two required.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Epic Ambulatory and Epic Healthy Planet/Compass Rose - must be certified in the above application(s) or obtain certification within 12 months (per application) of the date of the last required class to be eligible for certification.

Nice To Haves

Associate's Degree or progressively higher degree.
IT experience plus Clinical or Operational experience.

Responsibilities

Builds, configures, tests, supports, and maintains assigned applications to ensure system efficiency and integrity.
Assesses user needs and translates business and operational requirements into system workflows and functional specifications.
Troubleshoots system issues, performs root cause analysis, and identifies appropriate solutions.
Coordinates issue resolution with end users, IT teams, vendors, and operational leadership.
Tests system changes, upgrades, and new functionality to minimize risks and ensure successful implementation.
Monitors applications following production changes to ensure data integrity, system stability, and successful resolution.
Supports application integration and works with cross-functional teams to meet clinical and operational needs.
Develops and maintains system documentation, reports, audit trails, change controls, and operating procedures.
Supports application security and role-based access requirements in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and audit requirements.
Participates in process and quality improvement initiatives and identifies opportunities to improve application functionality and stability.
Leads and participates in IT projects, including system implementations, application upgrades, testing, and evaluation of software solutions.
Uses project management tools and methodologies to support project scope, timelines, and objectives.
Provides mentorship and guidance to other analysts and shares application knowledge with team members and operational stakeholders.
Maintains appropriate certifications and stays current on industry and regulatory requirements that may impact assigned applications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
