Senior Climate Associate (East Asia)
About The Position
Mighty Earth is seeking a Senior Climate Associate for its East Asia climate advocacy impact role to reduce methane emissions. This role will drive campaigns to transform food systems and accelerate the protein transition. The organization, founded in 2016, is a global advocacy organization focused on protecting nature and securing a climate that allows life to flourish. Mighty Earth achieves results through campaigns, communications, and practical engagement with decisionmakers, with a significant portion of their work dedicated to ensuring the delivery of commitments. The organizational goal is to make substantial progress in supporting impacted people globally, including protecting Indigenous land rights. Tackling agricultural methane is identified as a key opportunity for outsized emissions reductions and transformation of agriculture and food systems.
Requirements
- Advanced Mandarin Chinese language skills (written and verbal) and professional English language skills required.
- At least three years’ professional experience in advocacy, campaigning, public affairs, grassroots organising, or related roles, within environmental protection, climate change, social justice, sustainability, or human rights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Chinese and English.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Strong project management, organization and time management abilities.
- Proven capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

- Mandarin speakers in Japan, East Asia, or based globally (remote).
Responsibilities
- Supporting regional campaigns to reduce agricultural methane emissions.
- Coordinating regional campaign activities, stakeholder meetings, and events.
- Producing reports, scorecards, press releases, and campaign materials.
- Conducting research into corporate climate policies and food systems.
- Monitoring regional policy and industry developments.
