The company, founded in 2006, and operating across North America with offices throughout Canada and the United States, we are uniquely positioned to satisfy all varieties of risk in Contract, Commercial and Developer Surety, Directors' and Officers' Liability, Fidelity, Professional Liability and Media Liability. We are currently seeking a qualified individual for the following opportunity SENIOR CLAIMS COUNSEL, SPECIALTY INSURANCE. The Senior Claims Counsel, reporting directly to the Vice President, Claims Specialty Insurance, will be responsible for the management of claims within the Specialty Insurance department.
Requirements
- J.D. from a recognized university.
- 7+ years Financial Lines claims handling experience.
- Admitted to practice law in IL, additional state bar licensures is an asset.
- Adjusting license with a Home State designation of Florida or Texas, additional state adjusting licensures is an asset.
Nice To Haves
- Property & Casualty claims handling experience is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Coverage evaluation.
- Drafting coverage letters and other documents.
- Setting claim reserves.
- Communication with insureds, counsel, brokers and claimants.
- Litigation management.
- Negotiation of settlements.
- Authorizing payments as required.
- Acting as a resource for various business units.
