About The Position

The Engineering Department at AKRF is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to be based out of New York City, NY. This individual will serve a key function in the design of public roadway and infrastructure projects for our broad range of New York City and State agency clients. The potential candidate will have the opportunity to work in an environment of encouragement and collaboration to help AKRF shape the future of New York.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required).
5–10 years of related experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York State preferred (or ability to obtain within 6–12 months of hire).
Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of MicroStation / Open Roads a plus

Responsibilities

Experience in delivering infrastructure projects for public agencies, experience with NY agencies a plus.
Strong technical knowledge in infrastructure and roadway design
Lead civil design and production of plans, specifications, and deliverables for capital improvement projects in the New York City region.
Serve as the discipline lead providing direction, delegation, and mentoring staff engineers.
Manage project tasks, schedules, and budgets, and support overall project management responsibilities.
Oversee day-to-day project communication and coordination with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
Ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables while managing multiple deadlines in a collaborative, detail-oriented, and client-focused manner.
