About The Position

Parsons is seeking a Senior Airfield Inspector in Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate will be local to the area and have prior airport construction experience. Requirements

• Associate's degree in a technical discipline or construction-related field and 10+ years of related experience on Airport Construction projects, OR a high school diploma and equivalent work experience.
• Formal certification from an independent organization, depending on the type of inspection assignment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications.
• Thorough familiarity with construction-related processes relevant to the area of assignment.
• Potential to perform in a lead capacity.
• Must be local to Raleigh, NC.
• Must have prior airport construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tests to ensure work complies with contract specifications.
• Perform inspections of soil compaction, aggregate, graduation, concrete slump, air entrainment, concrete compression, lines and grades surveys, bolt torques, and concrete coring.
• Conduct surveillance of underground piping to ensure tightness, bedding, and grade.
• Inspect and monitor piling installation for proper location and bearing.
• Validate piping systems, including P&ID checks and hydraulic or other pressure tests.
• Check the location of reinforcing steel before concrete placement.
• Inspect electrical installations for proper grounding, circuit integrity, and adherence to regulations.
• Perform ongoing inspection of painting and insulation for thickness and coverage continuity.
• Provide general inspection on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship.
• Verify equipment alignment and balancing operations.
• Administer welder qualification tests.
• Recommend job safety practices and draft safety reports.
• Prepare quality control reports and suggest procedural changes.
