About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Civil Estimator to join our growing team in the Greater Toronto Area. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with a strong background in heavy civil construction, municipal infrastructure, bridge, and park projects who thrives in a fast-paced public tender environment. As a Senior Civil Estimator, you will play a key role in securing new projects by leading complex bid submissions, developing accurate cost estimates, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver competitive proposals.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of estimating experience within the civil construction industry
  • Experience in public tender environments is essential
  • Strong understanding of heavy civil construction methods, materials, and project delivery
  • Proficiency with HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously

Nice To Haves

  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex tender submissions for parks, bridges, and municipal infrastructure projects
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects
  • Conduct thorough reviews of project drawings, specifications, contracts, and tender documents
  • Develop comprehensive quantity take-offs, budgets, and cost analyses
  • Manage supplier and subcontractor pricing coordination and bid solicitation
  • Analyze quotations and ensure scope completeness and competitiveness
  • Identify project risks and provide practical engineering and construction solutions
  • Develop bid strategies and support proposal preparation
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and project management teams during bid reviews
  • Maintain estimating databases, historical costing information, and productivity benchmarks
  • Mentor and support junior estimating staff as required
