About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Senior Civil Engineering Manager to join our Remediation team. The successful candidate will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering professional consulting services to our key clients. The successful candidate will provide technical skills leading and supporting Environmental Remediation and Coal Ash closure projects within the department and will develop strong relationships with the team and clients to enable pursuit of new opportunities. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as part of a project team. The successful candidate will be committed to the team's success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.

Requirements

BA/BS in Civil Engineering or related field + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership
Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review.

Nice To Haves

Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
11+ years of relevant experience at an engineering consulting firm.
Experience with Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR)
Ability to proactively lead technical efforts and project team staff.
Experience as Senior Project Engineer on large scale projects, including landfills, material excavation and dewatering, and coal ash closure
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification.

Responsibilities

Supports, oversees and coordinates engineering production activities for an operating unit.
Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative.
Initiates and maintains contact with senior-level management within the company and is skilled in dispute resolution and negotiation of critical issues.
At this level, the individual will have demonstrated understanding of project delivery requirements, creativity, foresight, working with a multi-disciplinary team to meet project goals and deliver high-quality technical excellence.
Demonstrates mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual operations problems, determining operational objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
