About The Position

Coffman Engineers' San Diego Office is seeking a highly skilled, self-motivated, technically minded Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager with twelve plus years of experience to join their team. This role involves applying engineering skills to a variety of challenging projects, ranging from project entitlements and preliminary design through construction documents and construction administration. The ideal candidate will be a game-changer, contributing to a team dedicated to design excellence.

Requirements

  • Experience with structural computer analysis software systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
  • Experience with the latest release of Autodesk Revit design tools.
  • Ability to build and maintain a strong team of professionals and support staff within a cooperative multidiscipline office performing at a high level of satisfaction to clients.
  • Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent leadership, supervisory, and writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Comfortable consulting to architectural practices.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with the structural design of buildings or similar structures.
  • Licensed California Civil (PE) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in structural engineering preferred.
  • Licensed California Structural Engineer (SE) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform project management duties and oversee structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of projects.
  • Collaborate with the architect, owner, and contractor to provide a well-coordinated and high-quality set of structural drawings.
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers, designers, and drafters to execute structural designs.
  • Meet with the project team to ensure effective communication flow during design.
  • Interface with the contractor during construction to ensure positive results with minimum complications.
  • Manage profitability of projects and maintain a working relationship with clients.
