About The Position

IMEG is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer specializing in civil site design, infrastructure, and /or water/wastewater design to join our Civil team in Omaha, Nebraska. In this role, you will lead and manage large, complex civil engineering projects, providing project direction, technical expertise , and innovative solutions to ensure successful outcomes for clients. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, oversee project delivery from concept through construction, and play a key role in mentoring staff and developing client relationships. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • 10 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
  • Demonstrated leadership traits in the Project Management career path
  • Adept in the technical aspects of one’s discipline
  • Mastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency in the Civil Engineering field
  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
  • Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, oversee, and manage projects of varying size and complexity, serving as the primary point of contact for teams and clients
  • Collaborate with business development staff, Project Executives, Client Executives, and Market Directors/Leaders during project initiation
  • Assist with design scopes of work, fee calculations, and contract reviews for proposal generation
  • Develop project schedules, set milestones, and manage deadlines
  • Prepare monthly billings, submit financial information, and update billing projections and completion percentages
  • Ensure designs meet owner standards, IMEG standards, and code requirements; oversee quality control and construction support
  • Lead and document progress meetings, coordinate project scheduling, and provide meeting documentation
  • Participate in project interviews and presentations
  • Respond to and resolve client and construction concerns, manage change orders, and obtain necessary approvals
  • Mentor, train, motivate, and lead team members
  • Build, maintain , and develop client relationships
