The Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District has an opportunity for one Senior Civil Engineer position. The Senior Civil Engineer will plan the work, select, direct, supervise, train, direct talents, evaluate assigned staff, and determine priorities for assigned projects; supervise engineers, technicians and consultants in the design and preparation of drawings, specifications, estimates, and contract documents in connection with the construction or maintenance of a flood control projects; review, evaluate, recommend, and/or approve proposals involving flood control projects. Other duties include: administer assigned budgets, prepare budget requests, and control expenditures; direct and supervise the research, development, and preparation of long-range master drainage plans; direct, coordinate, and supervise a variety of engineering services; review subdivision and land use cases, oversee the preparation of flood hazard reports and recommend drainage conditions of approval to the County of Riverside; represent the department before other agencies and the public. Competitive experience includes hydrology, hydraulic, and/or supervisory experience, presenting and communicating complex Flood Control and engineering project components to audiences of varying levels of technical understanding, and a broad range of experience in District/public works projects, as well as demonstrated project management. A hybrid schedule may be available once training or probationary period is complete.
