Olsson provides multidisciplinary design services for mixed-use, commercial, and residential land development projects, along with municipal, industrial, sports, schools, and other site development types. In this role, the Senior Civil Engineer will provide crucial technical support and serve as a lead engineer on complex projects, utilizing high-level expertise in engineering design. The engineer will oversee project deliverables and completion for small-to-mid-sized projects, ensuring timely completion in accordance with established scope, schedule, and budget. Responsibilities also include executing QA/QC plans, mentoring and training team members, maintaining quality control by conducting thorough checks on plans and deliverables. Additionally, the role involves playing an advisory role on challenging projects, providing project management support, and leading the delivery of high-quality solutions to meet engineering and design needs.

Requirements

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to contribute and work well on a team
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
• Minimum of 8 years of related civil engineering experience
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE)
• Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals, etc
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D

Responsibilities

• Often serves as lead engineer on complex projects and provides high-level technical engineering design.
• Oversee project deliverables and completion for small-to-mid-sized projects, ensuring timely completion in accordance with established scope, schedule, and budget.
• Executes QA/QC plans for the team.
• Elevates the level of technical expertise within the team through technical design mentoring and training.
• Leads the effort for putting together technical resources for the team and its projects.
• May supervise/direct professionals and technical staff in the design approach to meet other project requirements.
• Reviews contracts with support of administration.
• Promotes efficiencies in producing quality work.
• Maintains quality control and adequately checks plans.
• Play an advisory role on challenging projects.
• Provide project management support.
• Lead the delivery of high-quality solutions to meet engineering and design needs.
