Senior Civil Engineer - Site Design

Olsson provides multidisciplinary design services for various land development projects, including mixed-use, commercial, residential, municipal, industrial, sports, and schools. In this position, the Senior Civil Engineer will provide crucial technical support and serve as a lead engineer on complex projects, leveraging high-level expertise in engineering design. The role involves overseeing project deliverables and completion for small-to-mid-sized projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget. Key responsibilities also include executing QA/QC plans, mentoring and training team members, maintaining quality control, playing an advisory role on challenging projects, providing project management support, and leading the delivery of high-quality engineering and design solutions.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Minimum of 8 years of related civil engineering experience
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE)
- Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals, etc
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
Responsibilities
- Often serves as lead engineer on complex projects and provides high-level technical engineering design
- Oversee project deliverables and completion for small-to-mid-sized projects, ensuring timely completion in accordance with established scope, schedule, and budget
- Executes QA/QC plans for the team
- Elevates the level of technical expertise within the team through technical design mentoring and training
- Leads the effort for putting together technical resources for the team and its projects
- May supervise/direct professionals and technical staff in the design approach to meet other project requirements
- Reviews contracts with support of administration
- Promotes efficiencies in producing quality work
- Maintains quality control and adequately checks plans
- Play an advisory role on challenging projects
- Provide project management support
- Lead the delivery of high-quality solutions to meet engineering and design needs
