About The Position

BL Companies is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for Land Development to oversee projects from start to finish. This role requires a leader who can manage client relationships, direct project execution, and ensure high-quality deliverables within scope, budget, and timeline. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience as a civil engineer with a PE license and experience in leadership and mentoring junior staff. The role primarily focuses on land development projects within the retail, commercial, and residential sectors, involving collaboration with municipal agencies and multiple disciplines. This is a primarily remote position with occasional in-office attendance and travel throughout the Northeast required.

Requirements

PE License required
8+ years of experience in land development engineering
Proven leadership experience managing full-time staff
Strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations
Experience with municipal agencies, regulatory bodies, and private sector clients
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Must be based in the Northeastern United States, ideally within one hour of Southern New Hampshire or Maine.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and execution of retail, commercial, and residential land development projects.
Act as the primary client contact, building strong relationships and managing expectations.
Oversee project teams, assign resources, and drive efficiency.
Ensure projects meet all quality, schedule, and budgetary requirements.
Present at public meetings and represent clients before agencies and stakeholders.
Collaborate across multiple disciplines within BL Companies and with external partners.
Mentor junior engineers and staff, fostering a strong learning environment.
