Estimator in Civil Landscape Construction
About The Position

As our civil division continues to grow, we’re looking for a Senior Civil Construction Estimator who can confidently lead complex tenders while also playing a key role in pre-construction planning and project execution support. This role is ideal for someone with strong estimating experience who enjoys being involved beyond bid day — collaborating with operations teams, supporting project planning, and helping set projects up for success from the start. This is not strictly a Project Manager role; estimating remains the core focus, but candidates with leadership, coordination, or project management exposure will thrive in this position.
Requirements
- 5+ years of civil construction estimating experience
- Strong experience with public tenders and competitive bid environments
- Experience in pricing municipal, parks, site development, or infrastructure projects
- Comfortable taking ownership of larger, more complex bids
- Working knowledge of project coordination or project management principles
- Proficiency with HeavyBid
- Proficiency with Bluebeam
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
Nice To Haves
- A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field is considered an asset

Responsibilities
- Leading large-scale tender submissions for parks and recreation projects, pathways and trail systems, pedestrian bridges, and municipal civil infrastructure.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Preparing detailed quantity take-offs, budgets, and competitive estimates.
- Coordinating pricing with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Identifying project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
- Assisting with project planning, scheduling, and pre-construction coordination.
- Supporting seamless handoffs between estimating and operations teams.
- Collaborating with Project Managers, Superintendents, and leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
- Helping mentor junior estimating staff as the department grows.
