Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Current HVAC certification and OSHA 10 certification required.
  • Multistack/Airstack knowledge required
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as an HVACR service technician in a commercial environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficiency using handheld devices such as smartphones, tablets, or laptops.
  • Strong electrical knowledge required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Ability to work in diverse environments, including mechanical equipment rooms, extreme weather conditions, high/medium/low voltage exposure, and elevated heights.
  • Ability to crawl, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and balance as required.
  • Must regularly lift to 50 lbs. and frequently lift or move up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Startup experience with various brands of HVAC equipment preferred.
  • Chiller and cooling tower experience preferred.
  • EPA Universal Certification and/or related certifications (HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, and unscheduled, maintenance and repair of industrial mechanical systems including air cooled chillers, centrifugal chillers, pumps, cooling towers, air handler units, valves, fan coil units, variable air volume systems, etc.
  • Diagnose and repair of machine and equipment defects including electronic, mechanical, and electrical components related to these systems. Also includes diverse service issues, obtaining any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer’s recommendations, and explain fully to customer what the issue is and what is needed to correct.
  • Oversee installation and operation of various mechanical systems.
  • Lead role in defining and developing the training, materials, and tools needed to support our chiller/HVAC maintenance business.
  • Be available to work some nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of our customers.
  • Maintain good working order of company vehicle including refueling as necessary, reporting any mechanical issues. Vehicles should be washed on a regular basis. Proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment shall always be maintained in the vehicle.
  • Maintain all relevant documentation related to all services and tasks performed, including make, model, serial number, necessary test measurements, and pictures, as necessary.
  • Provide detailed, complete, and timely paperwork as required.
  • Identify and report to supervisor/manager potential business, including site visits, conference calls with subcontractors and cost estimation.
  • Provides updates to communicate to dispatch, parts procurement, supervisors, and managers, as needed, to keep company and customers informed about work progressions.
  • Scheduling and coordinating services with the customer.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
