As a Chemical Masking Technician for General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) Precision Structures & Optics (PSO) located in Cullman, AL, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team primarily responsible for surface preparation of Beryllium products for masking operations, detailed masking, unmasking, the cleaning of parts, operation of paint equipment and the preparation of paint for application to hardware for use in the most demanding applications, across the aerospace, defense, and nuclear industries. Our products are used in high performance sensing systems for targeting and acquisition, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, and are hardened for the battlefield environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years of related experience with experience in chemical/waste handling preferred
  • Ability to read, understand and follow written instructions such as masking instruction on routers, work instructions, quality procedures, inspection sheets and drawings as applicable to the work being performed
  • Experience and ability to routinely use a microscope and to work with sharp edged tools such as razor blades and knives in a safe manner
  • People who are detail-oriented and have good hand eye coordination
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments in a timely manner
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints to determine masking and painting requirements
  • Commitment to process excellence by ensuring proper, efficient, and accurate use of the processes
  • Manual dexterity
  • U.S. citizenship is required
