Senior CEI Inspector
About The Position
We are seeking a Senior CEI Inspector to join our team in Ft Lauderdale, FL. This role involves reading contract plans, specifications, shop drawings, and regulatory agency manuals. The inspector will observe construction work such as trench excavation, pipe placement, backfill operations, pile driving, structure placement, steel reinforcement, concrete pouring, signalization, and lighting. Responsibilities also include performing density and asphalt tests, sampling and verifying material certifications, reviewing shop drawings within a limited area of expertise, and logging and reporting materials and work. The Senior CEI Inspector will also assist in directing the daily activities of less experienced staff and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma (or equivalent) plus twelve years related experience OR an Associate Degree in a related technical field plus ten years related experience is required.
- Good oral communications skills and ability to organize information.
- Math computation skills and understanding of contract plans and specifications.
- Must be physically fit to do manual labor and carry up to 60 lbs.
- FDOT experience required.
