Huntsman is seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Category Lead for chemicals sourcing categories. This high-impact role is based at the global headquarters in The Woodlands, Texas, and offers the opportunity to shape procurement strategies, optimize costs, and drive profitability across operations.

Requirements

  • Unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, chemical trading, or oil & gas derivatives.
  • Knowledge of energy and chemicals markets.
  • Ability to deliver strategic sourcing and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business orientation.
  • Skilled in supplier and stakeholder relationships.
  • Data-driven decision-maker with market intelligence knowledge.
  • Excellent communicator and cross-functional team player.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in chemicals procurement and contract management.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, MS Office, and project management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sourcing for high-spend chemical commodities with a focus on value creation and cost reduction.
  • Develop and execute multi-year strategic sourcing plans aligned with business goals, including business cases for sourcing decisions such as Make vs. Buy, product substitution, and standardization.
  • Negotiate and manage supply agreements to maximize profitability and minimize input costs.
  • Develop deep insight into chemical market dynamics (feedstocks, energy linkages, capacity changes, and cost curves) and translate insights into actionable sourcing strategies.
  • Formulate and execute risk mitigation strategies for high-impact chemicals.
  • Provide consistent pricing and trend data for budgeting and forecasting.
  • Collaborate closely with supply chain, operations, R&D, and technology teams to drive total cost reduction.
  • Manage supplier relationships and develop strategic alliances across the extended supply chain.
  • Influence internal stakeholders to ensure procurement delivers measurable business value.
