About The Position

TC Transcontinental is seeking a Senior Canadian Tax Analyst to play a key role in managing Canadian corporate tax compliance and interpreting and applying tax legislation in a complex business environment. The incumbent will also participate in tax accounting and tax provision activities under IFRS. Requirements

  • Hold a university degree in accounting
  • Hold a CPA designation
  • Have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in tax compliance and tax accounting
  • Excellent knowledge of Canadian corporate tax legislation
  • Proficiency with commonly used computer tools, such as Microsoft Office, with advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Good knowledge of Taxprep
  • Bilingualism: French and English

Nice To Haves

  • Specialized tax training: CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program or a graduate degree in taxation
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Longview

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the full process of preparing, reviewing and filing Canadian income tax returns
  • Prepare tax provisions and tax notes for Canadian legal entities and the consolidated group
  • Prepare reconciliations between tax provisions and the previous year’s income tax returns ("true-up")
  • Participate in audits and exchanges with tax authorities and follow up on information requests
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement and automation of tax processes to enhance operational performance and support the evolution of the function
  • Support the identification and implementation of tax optimization opportunities
  • Participate in special projects, including reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions
  • Respond to ad hoc tax-related requests
