About The Position

The Senior Counselor is responsible for supervising and managing the daily activities and interactions of a cabin of campers. Senior Counselors are responsible for the 24/7 supervision of cabin groups, planning and participating in daily activities with cabin groups as well as assisting counselors in planning activities. Senior Counselors will interact with Directors, counseling staff, parents. Senior Counselors are an essential part of check in and check out, assisting with luggage and meal times.

Requirements

Leadership experience in childcare (e.g., YMCA, church, school, community organizations).
Knowledge of supervisory skills, conflict resolution, behavior management, and childcare.
Must be enthusiastic, fun, creative, energetic, and organized.

Responsibilities

Supervising and managing the daily activities and interactions of a cabin of campers.
Providing 24/7 supervision of cabin groups.
Planning and participating in daily activities with cabin groups.
Assisting counselors in planning activities.
Interacting with Directors, counseling staff, and parents.
Assisting with check-in and check-out, luggage, and meal times.
Creating a safe and fun environment for campers.
Assisting Directors in carrying out assigned tasks.
Being an active member of a small community, taking on delegated responsibilities, and helping to maintain the physical, emotional, and mental health of each team member.
