About The Position

This role involves reading, analyzing, and interpreting complex technical drawings to plan, organize, and execute cabinetry work according to production priorities. The Senior Cabinetmaker will build and assemble high-end custom furniture, displays, and components, and perform laminate and specialty material applications. Responsibilities include cutting, machining, and shaping components using specialized equipment, performing precise adjustments and corrections, and mentoring junior team members. The role also contributes to process improvements, designs and builds jigs and fixtures, ensures deadlines and quality standards are met, and performs thorough quality control inspections. Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace and equipment is also key.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in cabinetmaking / custom woodworking
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings
  • Mastery of woodworking, assembly, and finishing techniques
  • Experience with a wide range of materials (solid wood, laminate, melamine, composites)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor team members
  • Highly autonomous with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to propose practical solutions

  • Experience in commercial display manufacturing (strong asset)

Responsibilities

  • Read, analyze, and interpret complex technical drawings
  • Plan, organize, and execute cabinetry work according to production priorities
  • Build and assemble high-end custom furniture, displays, and components
  • Perform laminate and specialty material applications
  • Cut, machine, and shape components using specialized equipment (router, planer, sander, CNC, etc.)
  • Perform precise adjustments, touch-ups, and defect corrections
  • Mentor and support junior cabinetmakers and shop helpers as needed
  • Contribute to process improvements and production efficiency
  • Design and build jigs, fixtures, or tools for complex or custom projects
  • Ensure deadlines and high-quality standards are consistently met
  • Perform thorough quality control inspections (in-process and finished goods)
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace
  • Maintain equipment and report any issues promptly

Benefits

  • Salary: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on experience
  • Overtime: paid after 40 hours
  • Group Insurance: eligibility after 6 months
  • Boot Allowance: provided annually
