About The Position

The Sr. Buyer is responsible for executing day-to-day purchasing activities that support customer programs within the construction Vertical. This role focuses on ensuring product availability, accurate order placement, supplier communication, and inventory management to meet customer requirements and company goals. This role collaborates closely with the Purchasing Manager, Buyers, Category Management, and internal stakeholders to maintain efficient purchasing operations, strong supplier performance, and alignment with strategic business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 5 years of purchasing, supply chain, or inventory management experience; experience in construction industry supply chains is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing principles, order management, and supplier communication.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement modules.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and support daily procurement activities including forecasting, planning, order placement, and order confirmation for assigned product categories and customers.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to support customer demand while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
  • Communicate regularly with suppliers to confirm orders, monitor deliveries, and resolve any shipment or quality issues.
  • Collaborate with Category Managers, the Purchasing Manager, and Sales to align purchasing with customer-specific needs and category strategies.
  • Analyze purchasing and inventory data to identify trends, anticipate stockouts, and recommend adjustments to buying patterns.
  • Assist in evaluating supplier performance and escalating issues to the Purchasing Manager when necessary.
  • Support new customer onboarding and transitions by ensuring accurate material setup, lead time validation, and supplier readiness.
  • Partner with Logistics and Warehouse Operations to track transfers, deliveries, and inbound shipments.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing data in the ERP system and support reporting accuracy.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
