About The Position

Under the guidance of the Category Director, you as a Senior Buyer, focused on Women's Matching Sets, will work to create the appropriate merchandise mix based on emerging trends and manage the assortment strategies established by your team leaders. In this role, you will own one of our largest, fastest-moving, and highest-grossing categories—spanning 2-piece sets, lounge, knitwear, and co-ords. You will be responsible for managing your category product assortment, maximizing unit turn, and driving multi-million-dollar financial targets. Your expertise is essential to ensuring Fashion Nova has the absolute best, trend-setting matching set offerings for our customers at unmatched speed and value.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Apparel Buying, ideally within a fast-fashion e-commerce environment.
  • Direct experience managing high-volume, high-turn categories is required (experience with matching sets, knits, or co-ords is a strong plus).
  • Proven track record of managing global vendor networks and successfully negotiating product cost, quality, lead times, and payment terms.
  • Exceptional pulse on current and emerging fashion trends, with a deep passion for the fast-fashion space and customer mindset.
  • Advanced analytical capability to interpret sales metrics, run category performance analyses, and execute data-backed buying decisions.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace, and retail ERP/buying management systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Production, Business, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • English; additional languages are an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute high-velocity buying strategies to curate trend-driven product assortments specifically within Women’s Matching Sets, balancing top/bottom proportions, fabrications, and silhouettes.
  • Achieve optimal SKU counts while precisely balancing rapid-turn newness with high-volume replenishment inventory.
  • Stay ahead of fashion trends by conducting continuous market research, monitoring runway collections, and analyzing social media/competitor movements to identify exploding co-ord trends.
  • Translate visual research into commercial product by working directly with our in-house production team and global supplier network to engineer high-impact newness at scale.
  • Lead aggressive pricing and FOB negotiations with suppliers to secure the lowest cost structures without compromising garment quality, fit, or hand-feel.
  • Ensure product lines hit aggressive gross margin goals, landed cost targets, and retail pricing strategies built for high volume.
  • Actively manage weekly sales performance, Open-to-Buy (OTB) budgets, pricing strategies, and gross margin targets to hit overall revenue goals.
  • Maximize sell-through and minimize markdowns by strategically managing reorder velocity on top-performing sets while liquidating slow movers quickly.
  • Partner daily with production, replenishment, inventory planning, and creative/marketing teams to ensure fast-track production timelines, quick reorders, and high-converting product launches.
  • Utilize daily sales data, customer feedback, and conversion metrics to optimize fit, colorways, and total assortment performance.
