About The Position

The Sr. Buyer is responsible for assisting with the development of the supply chain initiatives by preparing and submitting PO’s & RFQ’s, communicating & negotiating with suppliers, and coordinating internally with operations, finance, & sales. This role is part of the Central Division and will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs such as the Boeing 777 and Embraer E-2, and important military programs such as F-18, F-35, C-17 and C-130. The company aims to remain the best value producer of complex landing gear components through a strong focus on the latest technology of manufacturing processes with machining automation and techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7 to 10 years of experience preferably in an aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Ability to travel (30%). Passport required
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and represent the company in a professional manner
  • Good organizational skills
  • Candidates must meet security screening requirements as set out by ITAR directives.

Nice To Haves

  • ISM CPSM Certification preferred
  • Baan ERP, SAP S4 Hana, Microsoft Excel, & Qliksense experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute action plans to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Analyze proposals, negotiate best prices, and lead time, terms, and conditions.
  • Prepare and submit formal RFQ’s.
  • Confirm, and maintain execution of all MRP requirements in a timely fashion.
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure all required documentation accompanies purchase orders.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze RFQ packages for various statement of work.
  • Monitor suppliers for quality and delivery performance (KPI’s).
  • Perform monthly supplier program reviews including risk assessments and rate readiness.
  • Assist with the strategic development of the supply chain plan.
  • Implement strategic initiatives and best practices to meet overall corporate objectives.
  • Prepare monthly overall supply chain program review presentations.
  • Understand AS9100 and NADCAP requirements.
  • Knowledgeable of INCOTERMS and ITAR Regulations (FARs, DFARS).
  • Attain techniques and manufacturing plans as required from supplier for customer approval.
  • Manage supplier non-conformance corrective action responses and ensure they are returned in a timely fashion.
