About The Position

Hyundai AutoEver America (HAEA) is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer, Procurement to serve as the primary procurement leader supporting the Automotive Manufacturing Region, including HMMA, HMGMA, and KaGA. This strategic role leads sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiations, and procurement operations for IT hardware, software, maintenance agreements, cloud services, and professional services. The position is a key liaison among Automotive Manufacturing business units, IT organizations, internal stakeholders, vendors, and delivery teams, aligning procurement strategies with organizational objectives while maximizing value, maintaining compliance, and driving operational excellence. The successful candidate will apply procurement best practices and strong leadership, negotiation, analytical, and relationship-management skills. The role also includes supplier governance, spend analysis and reporting, process improvement, cross-functional partnership, mentorship, and ethical and socially responsible sourcing. The position is based in Montgomery, Alabama, and requires working onsite five days a week.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
At least 7 years of procurement, strategic sourcing, purchasing, or vendor management experience.
Experience sourcing and negotiating contracts for IT hardware, software, maintenance agreements, and professional services.
Experience managing RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes.
Demonstrated success negotiating supplier agreements and achieving cost savings initiatives.
Experience supporting enterprise-level procurement functions in a corporate or manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of procurement and sourcing methodologies.
Knowledge of contract management, vendor performance management, and supplier risk assessment.
Experience using ERP and procurement systems.
Strong spend analysis and reporting capabilities.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and procurement reporting tools.
Understanding of Total Cost of Ownership principles.
Exceptional negotiation and influencing skills.
Strong relationship-building and stakeholder-management abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

Lead procurement activities for IT hardware, software, software maintenance, cloud services, and professional services across the Automotive Manufacturing region.
Negotiate vendor pricing, contract terms, service levels, and delivery schedules.
Manage RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes from initiation through contract award.
Evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery performance, technical capabilities, and capacity requirements.
Create and issue purchase orders and provide stakeholders with timely procurement status updates.
Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance using scorecards, KPI tracking, and business reviews; identify opportunities to improve performance, reduce risk, and increase value.
Collaborate with vendors on innovation, continuous improvement, and long-term business partnerships.
Conduct market research and vendor benchmarking to assess pricing trends, industry standards, and emerging technologies.
Use competitive bidding and sourcing strategies to support competitive pricing and supplier stability.
Identify cost savings through consolidation, standardization, process improvements, and volume purchasing; apply Total Cost of Ownership principles to sourcing decisions.
Streamline and standardize procurement processes, use procurement systems and automation tools, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure adherence to procurement policies, procedures, and corporate governance requirements.
Partner with Finance, Legal, IT, Manufacturing, and business leaders to develop sourcing strategies and procurement solutions.
Advise stakeholders on procurement procedures, vendor management, and sourcing best practices; communicate project timelines, costs, risks, and procurement status.
Analyze spend data to identify trends, savings opportunities, and sourcing efficiencies.
Develop and present procurement metrics, supplier performance reports, and executive summaries, and make data-driven strategic recommendations.
Mentor junior procurement professionals and promote best practices and knowledge sharing.
Conduct procurement activities with integrity, transparency, and fairness; maintain ethical supplier relationships, prevent conflicts of interest, and support sustainable and socially responsible sourcing.
Support procurement leadership, collaboration, and professional development initiatives.
