About The Position

Dunlop Manufacturing, a leader in music accessory manufacturing, is seeking a Senior Buyer/Planner for on-site work in Benicia, CA. The Senior Buyer/Planner oversees the end-to-end procurement and production planning process for Dunlop products. This role is pivotal in coordinating raw material acquisition, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring all parts and supplies meet our rigorous quality standards. Beyond daily operations, the Senior Buyer/Planner leads high-level negotiations and contract management to secure optimal pricing and lead times. The ideal candidate is an ERP/MRP expert with extensive experience in diverse material sourcing and subcontract management. This position also handles the issuance of production orders for internal manufacturing and production. Requirements

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience as a Buyer/Planner/Purchasing Agent.
  • Experience in Sourcing new suppliers and competitive bidding.
  • High School or some college.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Comfortable working under the pressure of time constraints.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a good presence.
  • Strong math & computer skills.
  • Able to work on own and within a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Office with focus on Excel) and MRP systems.

Nice To Haves

  • ERP/MRP expert with extensive experience in diverse material sourcing and subcontract management.

Responsibilities

  • Process purchase requirements for various production materials
  • Evaluate items for cost competitiveness.
  • Establish and maintain cost reduction programs
  • Recommend new sources and suppliers.
  • Negotiate blanket purchase contracts with new and existing suppliers that will deliver product at lowest total acquisition cost.
  • Interact with a diverse group of suppliers regarding quality discrepancies, requisitions, and PO variances.
  • Plan, modify, and reschedule purchase orders according to production schedules
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials
  • Assists with producing and scheduling production runs based on product demands
  • Maintain the schedule and actively communicate changes to production team on a routine basis.
