About The Position

Dominion Energy is seeking a Senior Business Technology Analyst to play a strategic role in driving organized and effective requirements for projects and products. This role involves researching, analyzing, and evaluating data to make recommendations for program and process improvements. The Senior BTA will provide guidance and mentorship to entry-level employees and serve as a liaison between business areas and information technology. Responsibilities include planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of complex business problems to be solved with automated systems, reengineering technical processes for efficiency, and identifying, evaluating, designing, and specifying cost-effective systems and procedures. The analyst will collaborate with Product Owners on end-to-end product strategy, determine business value, and ensure alignment with the product vision. Additionally, the role involves eliciting requirements, translating user needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and testing plans, defining and tracking performance metrics, ensuring testing integration, developing test plans, tracking progress toward OKRs, and managing software vendor relationships.

Requirements

  • 5-6+ years of directly related experience.
  • Extensive analytical ability, including organization and problem-solving techniques.
  • Expertise in presenting information through written and verbal communications.
  • Extensive facilitation skills for gathering requirements and designing business processes related to system change requests.
  • Ability to coordinate issue resolutions through direct interaction with clients and application developers.
  • Strong project management skills for developing project plans and leading teams through all project life cycles.
  • Extensive experience in performing complex technical analysis of various data and business problems with strong attention to detail.
  • Analytical proficiency regarding the functional and technical development of application software solutions.
  • Ability to multi-task to support production issues, test production fixes, and fulfill legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to develop a test plan with scenario modeling for functional and regression testing of systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of digital domains, products, and user journeys.
  • Ability to quickly learn industry trends and end-user demands; stay current with best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Extensive experience in managing and prioritizing product backlogs.
  • Experience tracking metrics critical to product teams.
  • Experience collaborating across various stakeholders to compile requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit requirements, translate user needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and testing plans.
  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for requirement clarification.

  • Ensure testing of features and functionalities is integrated into the development process.
  • Develop test plans.
  • Track progress toward OKRs, ensuring alignment with the overall product vision.
